Latest Trips and Pictures

These are a compilation of a few trips to Tramway and to Mammoth areas for some fishing. In the Tramway set Brad Still sent Left hand of Darkness V9/10 . I sent The Right Road V10 and there is a video to watch as well. I got the First ascent of Last of the Mohicans V5 it is a boulder laying against A Tribe Called Conquest. Rad climb. Starts on a right hand crimp and a better left hand crimp with good feet. stand into a good under cling and the bump out to the arete to a zenolyth. you then bump to an okay sloping crimp and again to a jug with a tough match. Justin Bowen got the Second ascent followed by Brad with the 3rd.

Mammoth was a good relaxing trip although the fishing wasn't so successful. the snow melt made for high water levels and murky water. I wasn't approaching that scenario right. But still had a good time. I was able to snap off a few good photos which made it worth it. Time spent in the Sierras is never wasted.

Hot Creek

Bill and I headed off to Hot Creek in Mid May and Memorial Day weekend and had a blast. We caught A LOT of Trout! they ranged from 6" to 18". Our weapon was the Black Zebra Midge. about a size 18 or 20. sometimes trailing behind an attractor pattern or other nymphs. I fell upon the new found glory of Polarized glasses (x-ray goggles) Then Bill was able to teach me how to site fish. That's about as good as it gets. Just need to start throwing some dry flys out there now.

On Memorial Day weekend we had a large group of friends come along. we nabbed an awesome camp site in the Big Springs Campground, right on the head waters of the Owens. We spent one day on Hot Creek and a day on Rush Creek. We fished the mouth of where Rush Creek dumps into Grant Lake in the June Lake loop. We were able to eat our trout and cooked up and good late lunch.

Hueco 2010 "Don't leave anything for the Swim Back"

Me, Brad Still, Doug Cooper and Nohl Haeckle took a trip down to the famous Hueco Tanks for a week. Amazing! Lots of sending. Aside from the political crap we had to deal with getting into the park it was worth all of it. We arrived Saturday morning at 6 and drove straight to the gate with little to no sleep and went at it hard. we climbed North Sat. took a guided tour to East Spur Sunday where Brad Left Purple Flowers V10 project and I left Full Montey V12 project. We rested Monday. CLimbed North Tuesday. It Rained Wednesday so we went into to town to catch a movie and rested again. We then climbed North the rest of the week until we left on Saturday. We had a great time on some classics like Mellon Patch V0 (4 stars) Gettoh Simulator V2 (4 Stars), Nobody gets out of here alive V2 (4 stars) and warmed up on Girls of Juarez V4 everyday.

Here is the Tick List: We all did New Religion V7, Brad and Nohl did Pumped Full of Semen V9, Doug and Brad did Daily Dick Dose V7 and Nohl got the Flash on that. Brad did Martini Hot Box V9 and Fern Roof V10 second go the day we arrived. We all Did Fuck you ass hole V4 and I got a flash. We all did McBain V8, I got it second go. Nohl got real close on Predator v10. I Did Big Nose Milley V10. Brad and I did this Awesome problem called Dean's Journey V10 which felt like wrestling a bear. Brad left Fuzzy Turkey V11 as a Project. and Brad and I both left Loaded With Power V10 and Free Willy V11 as projects.
